Original Arrangements

Performed by The Phoenix Quartet

"I'll Be Home for Christmas"

Recorded in the Buckyball Studios in NYC. This is one of my earliest arrangements. I think it shows the influence of Robert Page, from whom I learned a great deal about singing and arranging while I was singing with the Robert Page/Cleveland Singers.

"Christmas Time is Here"

I do write in other genres besides holiday music, honest! This is the very first arrangement I ever wrote. All of Phoenix's cd's were recorded at Gurari Studios.

"Land of Make Believe"

My arrangement of Chuck Mangione's amazing song. I had fond memories of playing this with my high school marching band and was so excited to have a chance to write this arrangement for Phoenix.

"Ocho Kandelikas"

The quartet needed to round out our holiday cd, Snowflakes & Sugarplums, with some music for Hannukah and we were dissatisfied with the four part music commercially available, so I wrote this arrangement of a popular Ladino song.

"Wiegenlied" (Richard Strauss)

This is from our most recent cd "Fairy Tales & Lullabies" and I'm quite proud of this arrangement. I was inspired by groups like The Kings Singers, The Real Group and The Swingle Singers.

"Be Careful, It's My Heart"

Irving Berlin's classic song. I'll never forget Bing Crosby singing this to Marjorie Reynolds in Holiday Inn. Happy Valentine's Day!
